Have you ever heard the story of Job? How God allowed Satan to test him because he was faithful to God, and in the end God blessed him more than ever. Ring a bell?
If this doesn’t ring a bell then maybe you heard of some other Bible story were there is some sort of happy ending.

Well I have had ENOUGH! Like girl, tell the full story!
Yes, Job was tested and sure there was a happy ending but let’s talk about the human aspect. The mood swings and speaking from his flesh.
Job like us was just a man, however; he was a wealthy man. When the testing started, it all hit at one time. Imagine your life is going great and then boom everyone around you leaves or dies, you lose all your possessions, and you become severely sick.
First off, all of that would’ve been enough to throw me over a ledge. But not Job.
“Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship.”
Job 1:20
Job responded out of the spirit. He was hurt but he didn’t allow his feelings to affect his faith in God. He had lost everything at that point and Satan’s plans didn’t work. So Satan asked God to allow him to take away Job’s health. God agreed. However, Satan could not kill him. So, now Job was physically in excruciating pain.
Once Job started experiencing this constant pain the more human he became to me.
“If my misery could be weighed and my troubles be put on the scales, they would outweigh all the sands of the sea. This is why I spoke impulsively.”
Job 6:2-3
When we are in pain, we sometimes speak without thought. However, I believe that what we speak when we are in pain or under extreme pressure is what is in our hearts. In Mathew 15, when Jesus was speaking to Peter, he said “But the words you speak come from the heart—that’s what defiles you.” In context, Peter asked Jesus to explain the parable that said people aren’t defiled by what they eat. At that moment, Jesus made it clear that what you say could kill you before what you eat does.
Though Job knew he was innocent, he began to question God as if he earned his blessings. God had to humble Job and let him know that he was not there in the beginning when God created everything. Job repented and God forgave him and blessed him with twice as much as he had before.
So, again!
Tell the full story!
Job didn’t get everything handed to him. Job’s faith was tested and even though he made some mistakes while being tested, he repented and was forgiven. Guess what? He was still blessed even after the mistakes.
Let go of the pressure of being perfect. We’re going to mess up, we just have to remember that there is grace for the mistakes.
