Empowering Faith: Utilizing the Armor of God Daily

Daily writing prompt
What’s the oldest things you’re wearing today?

The oldest most valuable thing I try to wear everyday is the armor of God. I understand that the war is not with people, and that the true battle is with the spirits attaching themselves to people. These spirits get irritated around light, they want to corrupt the light, but we have to remember how to handle these attacks when we’re encountering them in everyday life.

Normally, when we think spirits we think either evil or good. Maybe a witch or a scary movie comes to mind. However, I believe spirits show up in friends, family, and social media.

You ever start to get closer to God, then receive a text or call from someone you haven’t talked to in weeks. This happened to me. I received vision from God and I started doing the work the vision required of me, then boom a couple guys I forgot even had my number text me out of no where wanting to rekindle old flings. I didn’t understand it was an attack from the enemy, really a distraction sent to take my focus off of my purpose God called me to. So, I prayed about it and decided to ignore them because I understand that where I am right now, they wouldn’t understand.

The old me would have jumped on the opportunity just to say I have a boyfriend or someone to talk to in order to fill the hole of loneliness I felt after my divorce. I am allowing God to fill me up, so I am content in my season of singleness. I am learning that the man that God has for me will be able to keep up with me on this chase after God. I am twenty-five, I will no longer let the enemy make me believe I have to rush and get life figured out. If God decides that I will live the rest of my life single with me and my daughter, I will have peace in knowing that, that is the way He intends for my life to be.

I am saying all of this to say, don’t allow the enemy to feed you lies. You are enough, you are loved, and you everything God says you are. So fill yourself with God’s word everyday, and when the attacks come you will be prepared to fight with the armor of God protecting you.

Ephesians 6: 10-17

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Happy Thursday beautiful people!
Until next time …
