The Importance Of Having A Relationship With God

How important is spirituality in your life?

In my life, God is first. Being a Christian is not just about going to church on Sundays. I feel that some people got it wrong. The lifestyle of a Christian is not easy in the world that we live in. There are so many distractions. Every way you turn there is something new the world made up that goes directly against God’s Word.

Somehow people my age thinks living a life dedicated to Christ is for older people. I don’t care what anyone thinks or says about my choice to deny my flesh and choose Christ.

I believe in giving God my first fruits. This means when I wake up, He gets my time first, when I get paid He get’s my first, and in everything I do He gets the first say.

It’s so important to me that I have and maintain a relationship with God. He gives me a joy that no one in this world can take away. He reminds that even in my mistakes, I am still His child. I know once you choose God and the world knows, they hold you to this standard that you must be perfect. But I will never allow someone else’s opinions cause me to steer off of my path.

Choosing Christ’s way is not religious, it’s a relationship. So, I am not a judge of others, I am a light. My light may hurt some people’s eyes and that’s okay. But I will choose to move with love in my heart for all people. The Bible says that our battle is not with flesh and blood, but with spirits in the unseen world. So, I don’t hate people because of their life choices. I understand that this is a spiritual war that we are under. Sometimes people may not like me because of The Spirit that is in me.

Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. So, even when my light is too bright for some people and they try to dim it by provoking me, I will choose Christ. I won’t get it right every time because I am not perfect, but I am progressing.

Being a “Bible Brat,” is a lifestyle. Blocking reality and transforming. I am allowing God to transform my heart, mind, and spirit. Everyday I will choose to put the world on pause to be with my Father in the secret place. In this place, is where miracles happen. In this place, is where chains are broken off of my family. In this place, is where healing comes. In this place, is where transformation occurs.

So I encourage you to go find a secret place to be with our Heavenly Father and build a relationship. Get comfortable in that place, and visit him everyday because relationships require work.
