Do ya’ll remember in school when the teacher would tell you to cite your work if you use anyone else’s work in yours? For the ones in the back who slept in class to cite your work means to quote. So whoever you got the quote from you mention them in your paper. This is how we understand that it is not your idea.
The importance of citing your work is to inform the reader of the original source for the information provided.
I know some of ya’ll probably like girl I didn’t come here for no English 101 class ain’t nobody got time for that
But I want to show you how important it is to cite the author of life when He does work in your life
Acts 12:20-23
20Now Herod was very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon. So they sent a delegation to make peace with him because their cities were dependent upon Herod’s country for food. The delegates won the support of Blastus, Herod’s personal assistant, 21and an appointment with Herod was granted. When the day arrived, Herod put on his royal robes, sat on his throne, and made a speech to them. 22The people gave him a great ovation, shouting, “It’s the voice of a god, not of a man!”
23Instantly, an angel of the Lord struck Herod with a sickness, because he accepted the people’s worship instead of giving the glory to God. So he was consumed with worms and died.
How many of ya’ll knew you could die for what you don’t say
It says he accepted the people’s worship instead of giving the praise to God.
Ya’ll in here looking like what that got to do with me
So instead of flexing on the gram how you self made you need to be giving the people your testimony because really God made you
Oh that ain’t you?
Ya’ll like I don’t brag that ain’t me well instead of having your nose in the air telling everybody “I’m blessed and highly favored” The same girl you got your nose up too is the same girl that needs your testimony because she going through some stuff that God got you out of but you so holier than though that you can’t take two seconds to sit down and talk to her because you think her skirt too small
Just two chapters back Acts 10:15 God told Peter don’t call something unclean if God has made it clean
So that girl on the back row with the small skirt maybe she needs you to get out of your pride and help her through some things. Maybe she never had a mother in her life to show her the way. And brother that young man in the back that smell like a bag of weed talk to him because maybe he needs some Godly men in his life to show him the way.
If Peter and them acted like some of ya’ll in the church, it wouldn’t be no believers. We wouldn’t even had an opportunity because how we look and how we dress
Get over yourselves and Give God the glory. God did not bless you to flex!
I’m getting off topic but I felt led to say that
In king herod’s case, he wasn’t the one flexing he just accepted it!
Oo you just got it going on, I see you out here on your grind! You a self made boss! You doing your thing! You ain’t have no help! Yea yea
and your pride let people blow you up so big and he died and nothing he had could go with him. Not even the speech they praised him for.
Don’t let people around you cause you to lose sight of God. Cite the author. He is the author of your story. Cite His work. You know that if it wasn’t for God, you wouldn’t be where you are today cite the author! Well I got this new job by the grace of God cite the author! After months of looking, they called me cite the author. After months of trying I found out I was pregnant cite the author! After they said I wouldn’t walk a gain I got up cite the author!!!
Acts 14: 14-15
As soon as Paul and Barnabas heard that the people were trying sacralicé to them as if they were the source, they immediately tore their clothing to show the people we are human. Even though those people didn’t listen, they knew it was important to give the glory to God.
